Hello everyone,

This is my first Blog post, and I want to make it memorable. With that said I would like to introduce the concept of Dispensations. We can see that in Ephesians 3:2 when Paul talks about how he was given “the dispensation of the grace of God” for us.

This word dispensation is sometimes translated as stewardship or administration. Thayler has this to say about the word “the management of a household or of household affairs; specifically, the management, oversight, administration, of others’ property”. Strongs says this "administration (of a household or estate); specially, a (religious) ‘economy’ "

What Paul is telling us in this section is that God has given him the rules by which His property, US, will be managed. Just as Moses was given the tablets of stone and the dispensation of the Law for Israel. Paul is telling us that our age of Grace is defined by the message given to Paul.

As you read through Romans to Philemon please ponder the importance of this concept. During the time, when man was living under the Law as given to Moses no one would consider stepping outside its parameters. Our walk today must start by what Jesus has given to Paul for us.

I am not telling you to follow Paul instead of Jesus. I’m telling you to listen to what was given to Paul on how to follow Jesus (1 Cor 4:16). Your life depends on good Soul Food.
